Data Science vs Machine Learning vs Deep Learning vs Artificial Intelligence

With coming up of new techs, we are creating oceans of data. Recently, a proverb is very popular among tech industry "Data is the new Oil".

So, today i am going to decrypt, the differences between Data Science, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence. Lets dive in.

Data Science: Data Science is the art(more of a science) of getting insights from data i.e it analyzes the data of past and gain knowledge on that particular field to foresee future. In the process, it uses statistics, probability and machine learning Algorithm to get the job done.

Machine Learning: To simply put, it is a subset of AI(though not fully developed). Machines i.e are fed with data, lots and lots of data and then mathematics(magic) are used on them to make them learn. So, question arises what to learn from data. Answer is pattern. So, ML models are developed combining data and maths. These models have the capability to predict outcome on another sets of related Data.
There are different ways like supervised learning, un-supervised learning, semi-supervised learning, and reinforced machine learning.

Intimidating Neural Network

Deep Learning: With increasing computation power, deep learning came out as a successor of Machine Learning. It is improvement of machine learning algorithm with more complexity, and better performance.
Neural Network which is used in deep learning is actually logistic regression( machine learning algorithm) on steroid.

There are lot more to discuss like Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing as application of deep learning.

Artificial Intelligence: May be it seems new idea, but its actually 1950s idea. Due to low computation power, not much of development had occured. But now, its coming out as a cutting-edge tech. AI is the superpower given to computers to perform narrow focused task as efficiently as human(Terminator 😂) but with lots faster pace.
Artificial intelligence is the ability that can be imparted to computers which enables machines to understand data, learn from the data, and make decisions based on patterns hidden in the data, or inferences. AI also enables machines to adjust their “knowledge” based on new inputs that were not part of the data used for training these machines.
